CITY OF STARS
Varsha Wadhwa showcased her Winter/Festive collection titled ‘City of Stars at her own alma mater, Istituto Marangoni, as part of the Alumni Meet along with other notable alumni members like Dhruv Kapoor and Rahul Mishra.
Inspired by the works of Joe Webb (1976) who used vintage magazines and printed ephemera that he had collected to create simple but elegant hand-made collages, reimagining the imagery using simple and concise edits, transforming the original scene into something altogether more surreal, teamed with the tenacious and sexy Farrah Fawcett – pin up girl Studio 54, the silhouettes gleam and shimmer with a promise; a wish made in between heavens.
"Truly grateful and humbled to be part of such a prestigious institution which holds the legacy of producing such marvellous alumni like Franco Moschino, Domenico Dolce, Rahul Mishra to name a few and to present my new collection on the beautiful campus is amazing."

ABOUT THE COLLECTION
Specks of glitter strewn,
Her eyes or the sky?
Romanced by the stars in the sky, she waltzes in cascading crepes and dreamy organzas. Glitzy, fun and light as a night spent busting boozy moves to the tunes from way back when she's going to dance the night away. The musky, sultry jasmine, the flower that blooms in at midnight, engulfs the structured pleated flowy silhouettes and separates finished with playful bugle beads and Swarovski stones shine like diamond on a balmy evening.
Unapologetically romantic taking inspiration from the nymphs and translated it into floor-sweeping dresses in light, pastel-toned tulle and organza. The palette - blush, midnight blue, rose, noir black, and a dusty interpretation of nude one might imagine.
